Does anyone know or think if there would be any market for older Honda 4 stroke motors? Seems like the 7.5 hp or 10 hp would make great little kickers. I have a really nice 1973 Honda 7.5, the first year Honda came out with an outboard. Very, very nice restoration job. Looks nearly new. Only about $3000 cheaper than a new Yamaha.
The pic is the motor before the final paint and new graphics. Thinking about putting on a buddy's boat for a kicker. Purrs along just like new. Seems nearly the same design as many of the newer 4 strokes. Thoughts? D |

Of course there's a market, and you have already figured out the use that generates that market.

There is no market for such a thing. Nobody wants a 4 stroke kicker which runs good.
I'd take it off your hands for 300 shipped. I think I could use it as a garden decoration.

I suppose I have a few to choose from in my garage.
73 7.5, Blue and grey 78 7.5, White hood, blue lower, 77-78ish...All black. All restored and running perfect. Kinda proud of my little collection. |

I have a 84, 7.5 on my Lund for a kicker. I got it set up with a Controll King and works great for me.
