Default Thank you Johnnie

I sure enjoyed meeting you twice last year! Looks like I will have to figure out how to travel a bit to see you this year? No Nebraska offerings?

Sid,

Sorry that we are not headed that way this year. I have to spread it around. 27 Scheels stores and only on Johnnie Candle. Thank goodness for that.

I will do all I can to make them different. Parts of the seminars will be the same because they will focus on local area fishing opportunitites and there is a section on what is new in the walleye world.

The rest of the day I will try my best to make them as different as possible.

Keep in touch with me as it gets closer and I can give you the exact topics for each location.

Thanks for the interest.

There have been a few changes to the schedule originally posted. Here is the press release that was issued yesterday. It explains the topics and has information on dates and locations. I sure hope to see a few Walleye Central friends there.

World Champion Johnnie Candle
Set to Present SCHEELS Walleye University

Devils Lake, ND – This marks the 13th year for professional angler Johnnie Candle’s Walleye University series and what a year it will be. “I never thought back in the spring of 2000 while struggling to learn Power Point and writing an 8 hour school that I would still be at it 13 years later.” Candle says.

This year the series takes a bit of a turn. It will still cover as much walleye as you can in a day, but with some new twists. Sonar will be the first thing that Candle discusses each day. “There have been many new advancements to marine electronics in the past few years. What was good 10 years ago is hard to even find in boats anymore. We will discuss why the new technology is so good and I will discuss interpretation until everyone is comfortable with what they are seeing under the water.”

After the electronics discussion, Johnnie will shift gears into techniques and locations. “I wanted to mix it up a bit this year. Everyone seems to be able to catch walleye on a drop off in 15 feet of water in the middle of June, but what aboutthe tough conditions? We will spend the rest of the morning talking about where to look and what to do when thewalleye are not in the obvious locations.”

After a lunch break, the class will focus on local fishing opportunities as a representative from the local Game and Fish or Department of Natural Resources will join the group to talk about the state of local fisheries. Next, Candle and the local representative will be joined by a SCHEELS expert for a panel discussion that should last at least an hour. “The Walleye University Series was missing something, and after a lot of thought, we determined it was some local flavor. The presentation by local fisheries people and the Q and A session with two local angling experts will put a hometown feel back into the events,” states Candle.

The event will end with a very quick look at some of the hottest new gear available to the walleye angler. There will also be a drawing for door prizes and each person in attendance will receive a $20 Gift Card from SCHEELS.

Walleye Universities in 2013 will be held in the following markets:

Bismarck, ND Saturday, March 2 BSC College 9:00am – 4:00pm
Sioux City, IA Saturday, March 16 Bev's on the River 9:00am – 4:00pm
Iowa City, IA Sunday, March 17 Coral Ridge Mall Conference Room 10:00am – 5:00pm
Fargo, ND Saturday, April 6, SCHEELS training room 9:00am – 4:00pm
St. Cloud, MN Saturday, April 20, SCHEELS training room 9:00am – 4:00pm

This is great that Sioux City Scheels was added. Just signed the wife and I up.

Guys if you have never attended Walleye University I highly recommend that you try to attend this seminar.

Even if you have, do it again. This will be the third time for me and the Mrs.
