Default question for lund guys

I was crawling under the boat today checking the trailer and for the first time noticed a perfectly circular hole about 1/2 to 3/4" in diamater on the port side of the bottom of the boat just a few inches from the center line and about 5 feet from the front of the boat. I'm sure the boat came that way as the hole is perfectly circular and there is a pipe of some sort running vertically upward from it. Can someone tell me what this is or what it's purpose is. Is it the drain for the front livewell? any help would be appreciaated. thanks.

It's actually a ballast hole for faster on-planes it fills the front livewell partially doesn't it?

I guarantee.... that's what it is. The drain for the front livewell.
Some interesting alternative theories were posted, however. :)

The "on-the fly" pickup which was referred to...is only on a few models, is back further and is shaped like a scoop...'cuz that is what it does. ;)

Dump water in the front livewell and see if it comes out.
Then you'll know.:)
