Default Zodiaq vs Silestone

We've decided to upgrade our counter tops. Also we've been talked out of the cheaper ones, Corian, etc. Don't want granite either. Basically we've decided on one of two. Zodiaq or Silestone. Does anybody have any experiences with either of these, are they good, bad, or not worth the money. Because of color selection, we are leaning towards the Zodiaq brand.

zodiak and silestone are quartz countertops and are basically the same product with different color options. However, they are made out of the country. The only U.S. made quartz countertops that are made in the U.S. are manufactured by Cambria in LeSueur, MN. They have fabrication shops all over the U.S. Cambrian is a better product which is only sold and installed by certified installers. They are very selective on whom they allow to sell and install. I know because I am in the process of becoming one. Let me know where you live and I can tell you if it's available in your area. Cambria is absolutely beautiful, and I can promise you that it is the finest countertop product available by leaps and bounds. Howver, all quartz countertops are not cheap. Generally $75-$85 per square foot installed. Price is determined by several things such as edge profile, whether or not it has backsplashes, etc. I will tell you that you would never be disappointed with it.

We have had silestone for 1 1/2 years and we really like it. It looks great and is easy to maintain.

We sell both Zodiaq and Cambria. Cambria eats Zodiaq's lunch by 20/1.
Cambria's quarry collection is what is hot in the Omaha market.
Granite to quartz is 60/40 split

there are dealer installers in the chicago area. That is a huge market for cambria. Check out the website I gave you and there is a search on it for a dealer in your area. Here's a note that may help you decide between zodiak, silestone, and cambria. The family that started Cambria were some of my best friends when I was growing up. They are wonderful people. The customer service is second to none. If for some reason you would ever have a problem, the situation will be rectified. Also, please buy american made if you can.

We had Silestone installed earlier this year and love it. Much better than the sky blue laminate counter top we were living with previously...yuck! Tough, easy to clean. Just be careful of your knives. You won't hurt the counter top, but your cutlery will suffer if you are not careful.

Oh yeah, it looks clean even when it's dirty. I'm not sure if that is a good thing though. ;)

A vote here for Zodiac. We have the Zodiac countertops throughout the kitchen and they are very impressive. Looked at the other quartz materials and they were also nice but the wife liked the Zodiac color selection to go along with here WoodMode whitewashed cabinets. Good luck and enjoy as this will be a big investment but you only live once!

Default Cambria

If cambria is so much better, why does it scorch and scratch while the others do not?
