Where should I launch? Where's the best bait shop? Jigs and minnows? Handlining?

I've been launching at Lake Erie Metropark which is located right at the Detroit River mouth without any problem this fall. There's a bait shop, Bottom Line Bait and Tackle, right across the road from the park entrance. It's under new ownership, so I don't have any history with the owners. Another bait shop option is Trenton Lighthouse, on Jefferson Ave in Trenton.

Can't give you any guidance on walleye tactics, I've been stocking the larder with perch.
