Now that the deer and elk season has come to a close and we can get back to fishing, has anybody been out on Fort Peck lately? -- mark

Mark, I was out the other day and really did well on the lake trout. They are in 10-25 feet and are hitting cranks. 11 lb. average. Caught some smaller walleyes on jigs and minnows in 15-25 feet on main lake points in the haxby point area.

John -- Thanks for the information. The fishing sounds good. Any ice forming in the bays or up the lake yet? If not, we may not be ice fishing before February. -- mark

I was at **** Creek yesterday, (on business!!). There is NO ice at all. Even in the protected bays, No ice. It might be a year when boats could be used all winter.

Anybody, I mean anybody, who drives all the way to **** Creek -- on business or not on business -- ought to be packing a fishing rod and have access to a boat and some time to put them to good use. Thanks for the reply. -- mark
