Default Allegheny River (PA)ramps

Anybody know of a useable ramp below Lock 6 at Kelly's Station? That's the only pool I haven't been on yet. Thanks for any info.

Kelly's Station is the dam above Freeport and below Kittanning. There are brand new ramps at Freeport and Kittanning, but nothing in between that I know of. I've always heard of good fishing at Kelly's Station.

i,ll see what i can find out on that part of the river for you, i would think there has to be someplace to launch, have you ever tried locking up or down to get there?

How difficult is it to lock through. Explain the procedure. Thanks in advance.

You pull into the lock chamber someone will come out and drop you a hook and you put your rope on it, you need to carry at least 50 ft of rope, they then tie the rope off and close the gates and proceed to raise or lower the water depending on weather your locking up or down, also i would carry some kind of horn in case you need to get the lock masters attention, and remember comercial traffic has the right of way which means if there are any barges around they get to go first
