Default Pool 2 Mississippi

Has anyone been fishing Pool 2 lately?
It has been a couple weeks since I have been down there.
Just looking for a report.

My brother was down in Hastings today fishing a tributary of the ole' Miss. and landed the biggest eye of his life. 33" WOW! He was still talking incoherantly when he called me on his cell phone to share the news just after he released it. He was with my other brother and they had 3 kids with them....and guess what....NO FILM!!! We have boated a few 10's together in the past and he says this one is the biggest ever in the boat to date. My hats off to him for the release. Jig and a minnow in 4' of water. They're up and feedin'!

I'm relatively new to the twin cities and want to fish pool 2, but I'm not sure where there's a boat landing to launch from.

Could any one help me out with some directions?

Thanks

There are several public launches that I know of. There is one in St. Paul below the Ford dam at Hidden falls park. There is one at Ft. Snelling state park. There is one right off 494 right below where the freeway crosses the river. I've used all three and the State park one seemed best, not much current there. Hope this helps. Bret
