No, I didn't bother. I haven't been catching too much lately, so I didn't waste my time. I'll give it another try this weekend to see if this cooler weather has busted them loose. Good fishin'.

Well it's too bad neither of you were there. It was a great weekend on the water, and we even managed to find a few fish. Some of the fish that were caught were big! I popped a 10 pounder on Sat, and a 7.5 on Sunday. The winning team weighed in 31 pounds on Sunday alone! Little wind, nice weather, friendly competition, and nice people. Maybe you can make it next year. Tight lines

If memory serves me the winning team ran to the mouth of the Cass. I believe they were vertical jigging, but don't hold me to that. There were some competitors that caught their fish by trolling upstream with cranks, and they used Offshore boards to get their presentations away from the boat. Because of the front that went through I used Northland Fireballs w/stingers and went as slow as possible. Bubblegum, and Parrot were good colors, 1/4 oz., 4lb. Fireline. The fishing should only improve in the coming weeks. In fact I'm looking for ways to duck some of my "Chores" so I can get back over there this weekend, Hey maybe my wife would like to go on another shopping trip this weekend......

Hey Frogman, have you been to the river recently? If so, how was the fishing. Wasn't able to go last weekend. Work & other obligations. Plan on hitting the river this weekend. Has the rain raised the river enough to run up the Tib.

Fished Sat. Nov 11, caught three eye's. Biggest was 18". Fishing was very slow, cold front came through, story of my life! LOL My litle boy, and I had a great time, it was fun just getting out together. During the year I spend so much time fishing for the circuit that it doesn't always work out for us to go alone. Good luck, and try calling Woody at Livebait on the corner of Gratiot, and Michigan for an up to date report(but remember he sells bait for a living! LOL)at 1-877-272-8485.
