Whites Landing Report

Fished Whites landing today and ended up with 22 keeper perch and at least that many throwbacks. I was fishing 5-6 foot of water in the 2nd spring. I only caught fish out of one hole and didn't see many other fish caught. The ice was good (12") but the water is still a little dirty. Good luck and good fishing

Ryan, has the fishing got any better since your last report?

Ryan I travel on rt2 4 days a week and cross over the bay.Where is White Landing located ? I seen some shanties located south of rt2 on the east side;some close to shore and some further out.

Whites Landing is west of the bridge off of Rte 6. Just a guess but about a third of the way to Fremont from Sandusky. Don't know how the fishing is but there is parking at the bar and not too far of a walk. Watch for thin ice around the springs. Should be lots of shanties. Good luck.

I fished the second spring again today and did good. Two of us ended up with 40 nice fish in 4 hours of fishing (1-5) We were busy all the time since we threw back as many as we kept. Going up in the morning and will post again.

Fished Whites this weekend with good success. I took a total of 60 keepers plus numerous throwbacks. I have found that the fish are really concentrated to certain spots. I had guys fishing 10'from me all weekend and they caught only a couple of fish. The bite has been good from 7-10 and then slows after that. Good luck

My father & I fished the second spring on sat. morning and ended up with 18 jumbo perch and 3 slab crappie. we only threw back two perch. I know what you mean about the fish being concentrated two guys 10yds. west of us got their limit and guys 10yds. in all other directions got very few. looks like a good season is in store if the cold temps hold.

Ryan.... How big have your perch been running? And what depth are you fishing near the second spring. Have there been anyone around the 3rd spring?

I have been catching both small and large perch but the ones I have been keeping have all been over 7" with an average of around 9". I have even caught a couple pushing 14" I would say that I throw back about half of the fish. I am fishing from 5'-6'. There have been people fishing the 3rd spring but I don't know how they are doing because I have been catching fish and haven't moved.
