DePere, WI River, WI Dells info

The wife and my little one are away the week of 3/5 to 3/10 and I was wondering if any ramps are open for DePere or Nekoosa..If you have been out is it slow or what has been the report for these areas? Any info would be appreciated..I've got the itch so bad I'm bleeding to fish open water again! Thank you

As of Saturday afternoon DePere is not open. Looks like it will be at least another week. A good source of info would be Bob's Bait and Tackle in Green Bay or Jerry's Bait in Wisconsin Rapids.

The mouth of the fox is open up near the coast guard station in DePere. The river was open from the mouth of the Fox River up to about the HWY 172 bridge. However be careful, there were large ice chunks floating down the river! There was still ice in the river from the 172 bridge up to the Voyageur park area. Some boats were seen out on the river near the mouth of the Fox today. I have not heard how they were doing though.

..as of wednesday.....still large ice flows in river, though mouth is open, and downtown area is free and clear.....may have troubles getting up to depere, though....fishing has been very good....as always is after ice out....mainly males, though.......stay close to the mouth if u wanna find some of those fat ladies.....Depere boat ramps are still frozen in.....

I came thru Green Bay on Sunday and saw 2 boats south of the
172 bridge. Don't know how they got there .

The boats that are in the river are launching at the mouth and motoring up to the dam. Mostly 18"-23" fish. Fun stuff!

Is the landing at the mouth open?

Yes, the landing by the mouth is open. However, no docks are in place yet so launching is a two man operation with larger boats. Fishing has been good. No monsters but lots of 2,3,and 4 LB. fish.
