IS IT TRUE THAT WE CANNOT FISH OFF THE DAM AT NIGHT THIS SPRING WHILE THE NETS ARE OUT?

Neal,
You cannot fish off the dams at Cherry Creek, Chatfield, Bonny and Pueblo from 4pm to 9am each night until after April 15th. You must also be farther than 100ft from the dams if night fishing from a boat. FYI, a gal I work with helped the DOW at Pueblo catch spawners last Sat. and said they got many 'eyes in the nets and anticipate being done (reaching their quota) by the 9th. I'd call to verify before fishing before 4/15 off the dams.

Saw four or five dead three to four pound walleyes floating by the dam the other day. Some of them were still kicking. Do you think that is because of the netting?

YOU HAVE THE DATES WRONG ON THE DAM CLOSEINGS. THE DAMS ARE CLOSED STARTING MARCH 15th NOT APRIL 15th. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT YOU MIGHT HAVE SEEN A FISH STRESSED FROM EGG TAKING, BUT IF THE DOW DID NOT TAKE THE EGGS AND RESTOCK WE WOULDN'T HAVE THE WALLEYE AND SAUGEYE FISHING WE HAVE. ALSO THE WIPERS WOULD ALSO BE HISTORY SINCE THE DOW GETS THEM BY TRADING WALLEYE EGGS TO OTHER STATES FOR THE WIPERS AND I THINK TIGER MUSKYS. THE STATE WIDE GOAL IS 100,000,000 EGGS PER YEAR AND WE ARE WELL ON THE WAY TO GETTING THEM THIS YEAR. GOOD FISHING!

I was just thinking of taking them since they were dying, but didn't want to incase it is because of some pollutant in Cherry Creek.

I'm all for them killing a few walleyes to make millions more.

Steve Putnam and the division should be put in jail. They just rape and pillage, destroying whatever they touch. Why do you think the state of walleye fishing is the way it is in Colorado. The Colorado Walleye Association can not even have four tournaments in the state of Colorado due to the divisions efforts. There are not four quality walleye waters in this state. Just look at what they did to Bonnie and Horsetooth. As soon as they destroy the three fisheries they are presently working on, they will move on. When will they run out of water?
