Default PETA Tries again

Hey guys/gals I just got word from a story today in a texas paper that yet another Hunting website has found out that PETA personnel are hitting all of their message boards and going under assumed names and trying to make the message boards like this one into ##### and moan boards, and to pit each of us sportsmen and women against each other.
After looking at these boards lately I believe that they have done their jobs well. Just remember when you post replies, it may not be a sportsmen that you are arguing with on these boards.
Just a thought to remember. I will post this on the other boards too.

You won't hurt my fealings by labeling me that way.
-if your definition of "tree hugger" is an educated conservationalist and environmental scientist who is concerned about our impacts on and wise use of the natural world-

Please forgive me for giving a rats #####!!
Please forgive me for being one of few Americans that has a concern for the long term and sustainable use of natural resources.
Please forgive me for looking beyond the almighty dollar.
Please forgive me for wanting my childern and grangchildern to have the opurtunity to fish, hunt, hike, bird watch, whatever....
Please forgive me for being raised with the morral and value system that gives me a sense that I owe the natural world for my existance.
Pleas forgive me that I need to respect and revere nature!

No I am not an Environmental wacko or a member of PETA, just a man who cares about our world.

Here, here I'm for the same thing just as long as its used with common sense, which most intellectuals do not possess! They are some of the smartest people in the world, but can't grasp the fundamental things. Thus if they were put into the woods with nothing of mans conveniances they could not survive. I'm not saying your one but your posts come across that way. Science and the news media are the same, 50% propaganda, 50% use your imagination on. One year they tell you this and soon after they always eat their words. What I'm saying is don't react to everything that happens with hysteria. If they do this and this its bound to do that, is far from the truth. Most peta and eviro. people I've met fall into this. Not saying you do! You should care, but use common sense too. Do some research before you form an opionion, especially if its on the news or in the papers anymore. They give a very biased look at things. And if you've noticed its always in favor of greenpeace or peta's tunnel vision. Just my thoughts sorry if I stepped on your toes. CW

true that science and the media are only partly correct, but only if you get your "science" from the media. much of the science reported by the mass media has been interpreted by them (or are taken out of context) and has been twisted or distorted to make an attention grabbing headline.

scientific studies are small focused examinations of the natural world. In order to understand the larger picture one must read several (often dozens), or at least a good literature review of these studies; somthing the members of our media simply don't/won't do.

We all need to research, think, and consider our positions and decisions. unfortunatly many people do not do this. I would rather see an "environmental wacko" who has some clue as to what is going on in the world than the average American who takes the position of "I don't know anything about it so my opinion doesn't mater" or "I'll let the experts wory about it becuase I don't have the time to read about it".

some of the environmentalist groups are some what (ok verry) extreme. I don't consider PETA to be an environmental group- they are against the use of animals-not for the preservation/conservation/wise sustainable use/ of our natural world.

these groups may have a different outlook, but at least they are out there, at least they are helping to educate the masses and raising the awareness of environmental issues.

Too many Americans are just along for the ride and don't seem to care.
