Default Kingsville ONT Lake Erie Smallmouth

I'm looking for a little help and I don't know anyone that lives in the Kingsville Ontario area. I may be in the area this weekend and I would like to take my two kids fishing for smallmouth in my 16' Deep-V boat. Can anyone give me an idea of how the bass fishing has been and what depth people have been getting fish at? I don't know anything about the area but it looks great on the map!! I'm from Michigan and have been fishing on Erie closer to the Detroit River. The water has been very very dirty for the last month and a half. Is the water fairly clear in the Kingsville area? Will I have to use light line? Are there any hot tube or lure colors that you can suggest? I hope that you can lend some assistance because I won't have very much time to look for fish.

Instead of Kingsville head back tawards the river to Colchester (about 15min drive). Head strait out from the marina about 1 mile to the red marker, some people are saying the next record bass is coming out of that area.
Enjoy the day, good to hear you are taking a kid fishing!

I agree with newby, head to colchester.Look for pthe boats either on the grecian shoal or colchester reef.I've been hearing that perch and walleyes have been going good with several smallies thrown in the mix.I would bring tubes, cranks and erie dearies.I would drift(if possible) with dearies and crawlers until I located the smallies, then I would anchor and throw tubes. IF you want largemouths try cedar creek or point pelee marsh .Might be canoe's only in the marsh. good luck, post how you do.
