Default walleye

I am trying to become a much better walleye angler, can anyone give me some tips on what color crank baits or methods for trolling? I mostly jig with live bait. I heard of the color purple, any name brands would help.

Country boy. What body of water are you going to be fishing? Reef Runners in various colors are popular here on Lake Erie. Natural or metallic colors are used more on clear days and bright colors like "wonderbred" are popular on murkier days. Are you fishing in this area?
