Default Illinois River

Got out on the Illinois river, Water was still 3 to 4 feet above high but it looks like she is starting to clear a bit, Woungd up getting 7 saugers with the biggest being over 4# and the smallest was around a pound all fish were caught up the Vermillion river in 14 foot of water I was handling pencil plugs in green and char. and red and Char. colors also got a few on 1/4 oz jigs with Maribou. in the rapids there was one other boat up there and he had a limit in about 3 hours, He was pulling 5 colors of lead with # 9 shad raps fishing should get very hot by thursday!

I was up the vermilion also and was only able to catch 3 saugers. Were you fishing along the rocks or on the sand? I noticed the water was warmer and cleaner than the Illinois. Ended up catching fishing vertical jigging the eddies below the deep hole. I agree by the thursday it should be good fishing in there.

Hey Capt. was that you in the green 690, You were fishing to far up there.We were right in front of the 4 wheeler dunes there is a 18 foot hole there and they were stacked like pancakes in there.

Hey Capt. Cann you still get a hold of those 2 1/2 oz. walleye head jigs, I need some for the MWC next weekend and I can not for the life of me find any of them around Granville here. I went back today in the vermillion today and only caught 5 handlinlng they are still stacked in the hole, But they were still ther but more tight lipped today! I found another group of fish also, But your gonna have to E-mail for rhe report it's getting to close to tournamet time. The Baron

I dont know of anyone that makes the walleye heads that size but I know where you can get the flat river jig type in that size. Im going out tomorrow im going to fish the willows below spring valley had good luck there this past fall when river was high. I will e-mail you with any results.
