I have heard different stories about needing an I-68 to fish in USA water. I am Canadian and have an American licence. I fish the Detroit River. Some guys have been stopped by the Coast Guard and told that they can lose their boats if they don't have the I-68. Anybody know for sure.
Also, I saw the US Coast Guard heading down river at about 6.15 this morning. Did antbody run into these guys today and did they check any Canadians? Thanks for the information |

The way I understand it, you only need one to go on shore for over 72 hours.

All you need is a fishing licence for US waters. That form is only if you step on US soil.....Coast Guard could care a less how many fish you keep. There just a bit busy with nuts that want to blow stuff up.
