.........thought of a couple more things to get you going. there was or is a local guide by the name of bob tomasko who put out a series of map/casette combos. the one on pymatuning is excellent. i used to listen to this on the way to and from work in my truck. these two tapes have more info on them than any ten of us have. not really sure where to get them but if you or anyone else should get this info, please pass it on so i can have duplicates.
also, get a good lake map and mark where you hit fish. i have one someplace that has notes all over it. don't use it anymore but it was a big help. stop in at duck and drake and talk to lenny or gateway bait and talk to russ. these guys know the lake like you know your bathroom. they are always glad to share ideas and info. humble yourself. no matter how much you learn, there is tons more to learn and not enough living to learn it all. when out on the lake, memorize boats. you will see specific boats all the time. these are the veterans who know where the fish are. don't cut into their trolling or drift patterns, but wait for your opportunity to talk to them. present yourself well and be polite. these guys are from the old school and have paid their dues both on the lake and in life. give them a reason to like you. make sure you thank them. as you get to know them, you will find that they are a really good bunch of guys. never tell them what the best lure is and don't offer an opinion unless solicited. let them tell you and decide for yourself if it is applicable to your type of fishing. good equipment and nice boats are fine but you will catch alot more from experience. pay your dues and in time you will become a legend. until then, go fishing with the attitude that it is fun and educational. never fail to realize that you are sharing in GODS' creation. it is not all for you or me, it is for all of us. hope to meet you someday, and the best of luck to you. |

Thanks rapman its greatly appreciated. I am humble in all aspects. i go by the saying "the biggest room in the world is the room for improvement". so there is allways something to learn. ill do what you said. ill stop by duck and drake during the week sometime before the tournament. when i go fishing i usally do well, let out at bay 41 and fish snod grass and the beachs. i just dont know the whole lake and different techniques. i love to learn and love to fish. two of my favorite things to do. take care. hope to meet you soon too. thanks again.
