Had the opportunity to meet LCL in person at the Duck-n-Drake and picked his brain about lead core trolling. He told me that the Amish were catching a lot of fish in the weed beds in 3-4 feet of water. Is this where you guys were fishing? I had a feeling that the fishing might have been good this past weekend due to the cooler weather. Were you live bait fishing, trolling or anchored. I will be up there Satureday with my wife to try all. A kind response is appreciated. Thank you!

gotta remeber that the amish cant use motors lol...so i dont think they were trolling a bit lol maybe a drift or anchored. they are against that new era electric stuff. but if any amish do own a computer and are fishing the weed beds what are you using...lol

My son and I got out for a couple of hours Sun. afternoon. We did pretty good for only being out a short time. All of the fish were caught trolling 3/16oz Gold and Black metallic Hot'n Tots on lead core. The fish must be Steeler fans LOL! We found a spot along the east shore south of the causeway that had a sharp drop off from 15' down to 18' then a gradual slope down to the creek bed. I marked so many fish just off of the edge that my fishfinder lit up like a x-mas tree. Each pass through picked up a walleye. I wish we could have found the area sooner or been able to stay longer!

Has anyone been using the new Hot'n Tots with the plastic bill? I found them to catch fish real well, but they are not too durable. Three times now, I've had the bill break off of the lure's body.

I to have had trouble with those newer model hot n tot's i founda dealer with only old style tot's for sale and im buying buying buying. those new ones cant take the stress of a stumpy weedy lake . the old ones need tuned once and a while butat least they stay fishable.......and those are not amish they are menonite's excuse my spelling, but they have outboards and they do troll! and i work with a menonite who has a computer in the barn, not the house....the barn.
