Default Where to find Walleye and Perch on Lake Erie for smaller boats?

Hi Guys. I want to get out and catch some walleyes and perch, but am limited on distance and weather because of my smaller boat. I have an open 18 footer with 50hp. Willing to go west as far as Marblehead and east as far as Ashtabula. Any suggestions? Thanks, Ohio fisherman

There is a good perch bite going on about a mile in front of the breakwall at Vermilion. My buddy fished there on Monday and took 60 perch that went 29lbs.He got one that went 14 3/4 that is going on the wall. As far as the walleyes, in the next couple of weeks right out of the mouth of the Huron River will be getten good in the evenings. As the water cools there will be eyes caught within a couple of miles from Huron.
Good Luck

Huron/Vermilion is the place to be. Call Den at Sportsmans Outpost for the current up to date scoop. # is on web site. He can tell you everything you need to know.

Worthwhile area lake map on his web site too.

I have my boat docked at Huron. Do you have the GPS numbers for the perch bite off Vermillion? Or is it something where you can read the landmarks if you follow the shoreline over to Vermillion?

Just head East till you get to the Vermillion River and there is a popular spot about 2 miles North of the River. If you get there anytime after about 8:30 - 9:00 AM you should see the boats. Last Sunday I had a decent bite going there with lots of 10 inchers on up to a few 12s and one over 13 inches. If I remember correctly the numbers were 27.2North and 22.6W but I'm not positive on these. As I said just head North of the River and you'll see the boats.
Good Luck,
Steve
