I don't know about the whitebass at Sandusky but my 76 year old mother and I and one of my sons plus one nephew caught 135 whitebass at CJBrown in Springfield in 17 ft of water in about 3 hours . Straight out from the boat ramp silver 1/2 oz jigging spoons . Almost all of them weighed over a 3/4 of a pound .

They are pretty well right on time in both rivers.
