Default Detroit river water clarity...

What's up all y'all? Can I get a report on the water clarity? It's a 2 1/2 hour drive to the river for me, so I'd hate to show up to chocolate milk! Been doing fairly well this year jigging and need to get my fix for this week! Want to go Sun. a.m. Thanks.

I can't help right now but I'll be out there in the morning and can report back when I return, will more than likely fish from the Wyandotte area and south, both sides of the ditch until I get on some active fish. Just got a phone call from a friend that was out today, he said it was stained, but fishable. He got a limit of eaters and he was handlining.

Appreciate the reply, eyebuster. Will look for your report. Will be fishing the same area. Put a hurtin' on 'em for me!

Wasn't too bad from Wyandotte to McLouth Steel. Short day, so I Can't tell you about anywhere else.

All things concidered the water was pretty clean around the fighting island area. Picked up 4 fish with all the screwing around I was doing, talking to some friends and telling fish stories and you got to know that that can take some time....lol (with the lies and all) finished off the limit down the livingstone channel. 4 fish 1/2 oz chart. jig w/camo power worm no minnow, 2 fish pulling wire, # 11 clown. I'll be back out there tomorrow.

water was pretty clear like eyebuster said at fighting island. (starting to clear up at the salt mines) there were alot of fish being taken mostly by jiggers. lots of boats. not a hot and heavy bite but more of a steady slow bite. most were using minnows but not all of us and we still got a limit. we lost a couple of fish pulling 3 ways but the bite was still better jigging.

We'll be out there tomorrow, too, starting at Wyandotte and moving upstream as need be. If you see a handsome young man wearing a blaze orange jacket in the bow of a Blue/Red ProV 1775 with a DWF sticker on it, that's not me. If you see a balding middle-aged dude out there with that jacket and boat, swing by and say hi.

Good luck to all.

Dave-
We will be launching out of wyandotte tomorrow morning early as well.

Will be in Netminder's Pro V. It will be strange going in someone else's boat for a change!

Make that another one going out of Wyandotte in the a.m. I'll be the other balding guy in a Pro V. (though significantly younger than Homer)
