Default Ruggles/Huron- Outstanding on Sat

3 man limit drifting'n'casting on Saturday.
37.4' - 36fow my best area- I was away from the pack at all times. Heard and saw fish being caught all around the 26/26 line. Best day I've had this year in this area. NO - NO sheephead all day!! Fish hugged bottom all morning with only a few suspended low. Average size 17-19". Heard of bigger fish being caught in the 40-42' area.

Are you local BK ?? I dock on the Huron River and fish solo a lot.

I give numbers of where I'm hitting the fish or if I'm not. I give actual gps numbers, No secret de-coder ring needed.

Have any fish been taken in the 28/28 area? I haven't tried that area yet this year.

Fished 2 mi due west of Vermilion breakwall Sat AM. Trolled bottom bouncers w/ 4oz and copper or gold harnesses 95-100 ft back @ 1.8-2.0mph on the gps. 11 fish by noon, just could not get # 12 to bite. Great day fishing tho. This spot is almost directly north of the Sherod Park in 32-35' several perchers showed up and ancored right there as well. Fish log shows this spot produced three 10 pounders in June, 2002 and July 2003. Sunday was a lot rougher and it only produced 3 fish. Others were using dipsey and a "bloody nose" spinner with good luck according to the chatter.

That is a good report. Has the size been better lately. I had been fishing Vermilion, but fished West last Saturday with only dinks up to 3lbs.

I've only been averaging 17-19" fish in that area. I've only "heard" of some bigger fish being caught in 40+fow. I hope to test that rumor Friday.

Brian, if there's a drift this weekend, I'll be there.

BK,
Also love the taste of those "eaters", but I'm in need of that 5lb+ pull on my line !! Feels like I'm searchin for a holy grail.
Heard the Sandbar has been producing eaters fairly regularly, any truth there?? Last time I fished the bar I couldn't keep the farm animals off the bait.
