Most walleyes at this time of year and until freeze-up are caught from late afternoon, thru dusk, and throughout the night by waders fishing small jigs and minnows at the coves in the south end as well as the face of the dam. Some slowly retrieve cranks as well. That does'nt mean they can't be caught during the day but it's been tough for quite a while. Try slow trolling minnow cranks, the ones with a more subdued action, or drifting jigs and minnows during the day. Erie has been fairly calm lately and I've been perchin' there. Otherwise I would be at Mosquito and this is how I fish it. Again though, from what I've heard the day bite has been tough. I like the south end.
