I stopped in the party store this evening and they sounded positive. Also said a chunk broke off past the point. I live near the bay and there is a search helicopter out there right now running circles with a spotlight between Fermi and Edison. I hope they find them.

I may give it a shot this weekend, but not that far out. I never go past the point though.

Took a ride this late afternoon and saw quite a few going off Brest Bay Marina out just south of Stoney Point. Individuals coming in said good 8" of ice. A number of shanties, snowmobiles and 4-wheelers out on the ice. Party Store said there is good ice before the first pressure crack about 1-1/2 mile out.

I tried it today and didn't get a nibble. Probably talked to 6 other groups and no one did any better than us.

Fished 7:30 - 11:30 today with only 2 fish marked. Ice is good out to the first pressure crack - 18 - 19 fow. If only the fishing was the same.

Thanks for all the info guys. I live 3 hrs away and I hate to make the trip if the ice isn't safe or the fish aren't cooperating. They gotta turn on sooner or later....keep me posted.

I talked to some guys last night that have actually caught fish out there this year. They put in a lot of time on the ice. It sounds like they either catch a limit or nothing at all. That's fishing.
