Default Erie - Wild Wings Area Bait Stores - Shiners

I would appreciate some leads on who in the Wild Wings area has large shiners this time of year. I am thinking about heading over this weekend and will probably launch out of Wild Wings. In the past, I have used AJ bait shop with decent luck. Any advice is appreciated!

Happy Hooker bait & tackle is now located where the old Beach Carte restaurant & bar was about a half mile west of Wild Wings on Route 2 at the corner of Humphrey Road and Route 2. Easy Access and good suspply of bait & tackle and info.

Footdoc, I was out at wings on tues, slammed the males. Came home wens. due to the north winds. Supposed to be from the north til fri. I'd check on water clarity, It's a long 4 hr drive if dirty.

Thanks for the quick information and hawgboy what were you slamming these males with? Just jig/minnow or jig/plastics or blade baits? Did you find anchoring or drifting was best? I realize things change daily and you simply need to get on the water and give it a try. Thanks again for the info!

FootDoc,

Hawgboy was likely using his secret weapon- 2 oz. jig, slams em on the head, stuns them and nets em!

Seriously, spoke to him yesterday, he was using big jigs, think he only has orange or chartruesse in his box, come to think about it, I need to get those back. Hawgboy goes over several times in the spring, knows the area well, he'll direct in the right area. Believe they had most action by Niagra, sounded like other areas were fairly slow for them.

Who gave those to you in the first place? Footdoc, wondering if you have room in the boat for 1 if you do go. Tandjm1285@aol.com
