Default Fermi Report.

Fished today with my boy and his buddy out of Sterling State Park. Got a late start, (9:30 am). These teens like their sleep. LOL. Started off Fermi where by the time we set 2 rods we had a smallie and a sheep. Looked like we were off to a roaring start until the area became loaded with floating weeds. Too many to troll effectively. Had to put the top up cause of some minor showers and went back into Brest Bay. The bay was weed free and all we were able to troll up was 1 wally on a shad rap in holographic green. Got him in 19 fow. A thunderstorm moved in and with the first bolt of lightning we packed it in along with quite a few others. We were able to make it to port with only a few drops pelting us before we were able to drive out of it. Back in port at 1:00. We need some westerlies to give those weeds to Ohio and Ontario. Called for Perchjerker but drew no reply. The boys still had fun and that`s all that counts.

Czar, we have been doing very well over deeper water just over the Ohio line, 27+ FOW. The weeds do not seem as bad out there. No traffic either. There is a good school of fish with some larger ones showing up over the weekend. good luck.

Guess it`s time for me to get my Ohio license. I just don`t appreciate them taking advantage of the closed season in Mi by raising the non resident license so much. From $24 to $40. I can understand a slight increase but c-mon, that`s quite an increase.

I guess. There is a lot more water in ohio and the great fishing starts once the ice is out. I fish out of a michigan port and didn't buy my MI license until 6/1. I think I have used it twice. I wouldn't have bought one at all if I didn't fish salmon. The $40 ohio license doesn't upset me near as much as the may closure in MI.

The fish were still out there last night.
