Default Brest Bay Reports

Any recent reports out of Brest Bay area?

Where is the best place to launch to get to the fish right now? Is it Bolles, Sterling State Park, Luna Pier, other?

I don't think you'll go wrong at any of the ports. Everyone is catching fish. The talk is more how long it takes to catch a limit than if you do. I fish out of Brest Bay and have done very well for the past couple weeks in anywhere from 19 - 26 FOW and everywhere in between. I have been trying to fish where others aren't. I can't stand traffic. Shallower during the week and deeper on the weekends when it gets crowded in close. Once you find where they are that day, you should be able to pick them off pretty well.

I have been fishing spoons behind mini divers anywhere from 40 - 60' back.

Good luck. It's great out there right now.

Fished Brest Bay out of Sterling on thursday using hotntots behind inline boards. Fished 18 to 20 fow straight east of the park. Put 2 limits in the livewell from 8:30 to 11:30. Fish ranged in size from 16 to 24 inches. Caught a mess of silver bass with them too. Water temps were 66 to 68 degrees. Get em now, they`re snappin.

Launch at Sterling and just head straight out. We got our 5 man limit Saturday between 11:00am and 2:00pm in 22' FOW. We were closer to the Raisin River channel than we were to Stoney Point.

If you are not marking them then move around until you do. Once you find them on the fish finder they are pretty easy to catch right now.

We pulled 1.5oz Bottom bouncers on the bottom with crawler harness's between 1 mph and 1.3 mph.

Thanks for all the info.

Fished off Stoney Pt. Sat.-Mon. taking limits each day! Caught fish trolling bottom bouncers, trolling spoons, and casting/drifting depending on the conditions. Most fish were 16"-20".

June 2nd-9th
First time going out at Sterling. Stayed a week. Had a 16' boat so had to pick the days . 1st day got 1. Got laughed at at the docks and then told to use crawler harness's. 10 that night. Limits after. When we couldn't drift we ran the boards using rainbow and chartuse hot and tots. 22-25' of water. Never seen anything like it. That's fishin!
