Ok guys, vacation is next week and I'll be trying my luck at the 10+ for the wall Sunday thru Wednesday. I know there are tournaments this weekend but any info you may be able to help with for that area after the tourney's would be greatly appreciated.
This will be my first time to the area and I'll be staying in Huron. Any info on best launches, which is better, Huron or vermilion, tips, tricks, tactics... Thanks again, Dan |

Fished out of Cranberry Creek Marina (right between H & V) today. Good marks NE of the marina in 42 fow but they had lockjaw. Tried in closer 30ft and then 15-19 still no takers. Did quite well in the 42 fow last week but all eaters. Did hear of a few 5-lbers out around the Lorain sandbar. Best ramp for the sandbar is Vermilion like bountyhunter said.
Good luck and be careful out there. Barry |

The Vermilion ramp is actually on West River Road at the corner of South Street. It is a great ramp. It can be busy at times but the parking is good, and the crew working there are nice people. If you are using MS Internet Explorer for your browser go to www.local.live.com (you don't have to load software like google earth)
Then put in Vermilion, Ohio 44089 for the place to go to and it will give you both a map and a beautiful aerial photo of the ramp and surrounding area. Dave's Bait is in the area with all the boats shrink wrapped in blue. I know it as the Dry Dock Marina. Nice people there, too. I'll be looking for a report on the fishing Monday. Good luck and be careful out there. Barry Lorain, Ohio has a ramp on W 2nd St. that is a popular ramp as well. You can see in on the map and aerial photo by zooming out click right on Lorain and zoom back in on W 2nd St at the mouth of the river. |
