I use 2oz from inline planner boards. If the fish are suspended 1.5oz let the line out till touch bottom then real up 4-10 cranks or feet on line counter reels, attach board. For drift'n in deep water 30ft you may need 3oz if there is current, ie. river.

1-3 oz. The rule is 1 oz per 10 ft of water. But, adjust according to wind, waves and speed to keep line at 45 degree angle. Let it down quickly to get bottom contact, crank up a few and hook the board on. Play around with the depth until you find where the fish are holding.

Depends also on how fast you are going.
Far and away my best selling bouncer size for Erie is a 4 oz. Not sure about the reefs though since I dont personally fish there. I would rather be on the heavy side then the light side. I would have a selection between 1-4 oz unless you are in the central or east basin. I sell a lot of 6-8 oz size to those guys if you can believe it. Like Jerry said strive for a 45 degree angle, it will give you the best preformance and sensivity |

We run Church boards and they don't seem to run well in rough water with over 3 oz BB's on even when you move the counterweight all the way forward. I usually
run rods out the front with 4-4.5 oz BB's on when we're slow trolling 1.0-1.4 mph using the TM in order to keep the baits down under the boat (these are my lines since I can see'im while operating the boat). These lines catch a LOT of fish. |

I fish Crane Creek-Turtle Creek area pretty hard.Up on the beach we will use 2oz-2 1/2oz.out to 24ft after that its 3oz at 27-28 it is is3-4oz's depending on waves.I use mast planer boards and this is what works good for me.I troll up to 2.1mph with the bb's because I also pull stinger spoons on jet divers on the inside.Tell me if I'm wrong guys but you need to try some things out.I will start pulling them at 1.o-1.6 but some days(like last aug.2.1-2.2 was best for me)I hope this helped not confused you..
