Default alcohol

In Canada is the legal drinking age 19 years old. If so is it leagle for him to bring an adult amount of alcohol.

It depends on what province you are visiting manitoba is 18 yrs
ontario is 19 not too sure about the others.

Yes as long as he is of legal age . "Alcohol may be imported by persons of legal age, as prescribed by the Province at the point of entry. The minimum ages are as follows:

18 - for Quebec, Manitoba, and Alberta & PEI
19 - for all Ontario and all other provinces or territories.

It is legal if you go thru the border at manitoba. You could do that then go wherever you want once you've got the booze in.
