Rettig, of Big Sandy, and Klinger, of Billings, were sitting in fourth place with 16.64 after the first day of the two-day event held out of the Crooked Creek marina. Their second-day catch was 22.44 pounds for a 39.08-pound total. They claimed the $2,275 first prize among the 74 teams entered. Dan Majeske and Bill Legate, of Billings, took second place in the event with 28.04 pounds while Rod Siemens, of Helena, and Mike Borland, of Absarokee, took third with 38.04 pounds. The biggest walleye of the tournament weighed 14.03 pounds and was caught by the team of Bill Seidl and Bill Cook, of Billings. The Fall Classic was the final event of the year on the Walleyes Unlimited of Montana Circuit. It was sponsored by the Crooked Creek Chapter. Here are the top finishers:
