I have spent most of my life in the pursuit of fish throughout the Midwest. I
have spent much of my time fishing for walleye. Through this time, fishing as a
guide and tournament angler, I have developed an offbeat style and approach to
our sport.
I also hope that many of you will stop and see me in person at various shows, tournaments and
seminars. While I am out promoting my sponsors, (I prefer to call them
friends) I always have time for a word with you.
Recently I have formed Fish One Promotions in order to expand my horizons in
promoting fishing and fishing related products for my sponsors. I work closely
with other guides in providing anglers with the ultimate outdoors experience.

Tips
Run Silent? Run Deep
Many of us would do well to learn how to locate and identify productive deep water structure.
Secrets to Catching Fish
Wouldn't we all like to know the secret to catching fish at will? Face it we all would. It's true, no one can possibly catch everything they seek, every time they fish. However some come close. Ever wonder why?
The
Trip of a Lifetime
Well, for me this is a trip of a lifetime. But it wasn't the big bass that made this outing so special. I have come to realize, it wasn't the success we had. It wasn't that it was Jeff's first Bass.
Should
I Stay or Should I Go?
.....we had all of Lake Michigan at our disposal. If the boat could float, we could go there. Provided, of course, we could run there, fish and get back, all in the allotted time.
Skinny
Water and Tradin' Paint
Call it tradin' paint with the
river. Oh, before I forget, if you spend any time in the backwaters at all,
you will eventually get stuck, bump a stump or shine your prop and skeg on a
sandbar. But the fish you can catch will more than balance out a little
paint lost.
Chaos
in the Boat
I opened the access hatch
across the transom and looked inside. Even with all the batteries and the
oil tank and such, I could see that the water was up to the bottom of the
floor board.
Night Fishing
You know, there was a time when I almost never saw the light of day. Night fishing has always had a special meaning for me, both in terms of success and aesthetically. The Jig is Up
When last we spoke. I was telling you about downsizing my tackle selection and
making more functional use of the limited space in my tackle boxes and boat. A
Little Can Be Enough
Simply stated, during this late winter, early spring time period, when your
out fishing and the walleyes are running from 12-18 inches or so you can
double.. your fun with one simple little change. "What's that one
simple change?", you ask. Go Ultralight. Walleye with a Twist
A lot of commotion has been made recently about details. Be it new variations or just the basics, much attention has been paid to subtle details. And I might add, with good reason. A Common THREAD
As I shuffled through a stack of photos while looking for last month's
article, I noticed something. A staggering number of the fish I have caught
over the years have been caught in the same simple manner.
