GLADSTONE, MICH. – Brothers-in-law, Kevin Dahl and Steve Stack of Muskego, Wis., won the Quantum/MotorGuide Masters Walleye Circuit (MWC) Team Walleye Tournament held August 28-29 on Lake Michigan’s Little Bay de Noc at Gladstone, Mich.

The winners put together consistent catches of 25.84 and 22.94 lbs., an allowable ten fish MWC limit totaling an impressive 48.78 lbs., nearly a five pound average.  Their first circuit victory was worth $12,500.

According to Dahl, "We fished an area between the Cedar and Ford Rivers, trolling nightcrawler spinner rigs between 14 and 23 feet of water.  On Saturday we caught fish all day long, but today [Sun.] we had to work hard for what we caught.  Our fifth fish came 20 minutes before the weigh-in."

Stack added, "We used two ounce Lindy X-Change bottom bouncers and number five Lindy Hatchet spinners with the hammered nickel finish on Berkley ten pound test XT line.  A critical key to our presentation was the Quantum 8-1/2 foot steelhead rods we used.  They get the baits out away from the boat, and the longer rod and softer action of the rods give you more leverage when fighting a fish—especially when they make that strong dive at the side of the boat."
