The Outdoor Channel Debuts "Monday Night Fishing" in January 1999

Now Available Nationwide on DISH Network*

TEMECULA, CA: Management of The Outdoor Channel, Inc. has announced that in

January 1999, the network will debut "Monday Night Fishing", a three hour block of some of the best fishing programs in production. The lineup, which airs Monday nights from 9:00 to Midnight EST, will begin with In-Fisherman with Al Linder, followed by Tom Mann Outdoors, Fishing Expeditions Television with Ron Kovach, Keith Warren's Texas Angler, Babe Winkleman's

Good Fishing, and finishing with a Jimmy Houston Production, Tim Hartman's Prime Time Outdoors. Ron Kovach, who is known as America's foremost angling educator, a highly rated radio host and an author of five books, had this to say, "I am pleased to be part of this all-star line-up, serving America's #1 outdoor sport. I guarantee you "Monday Night Fishing" will be more exciting than a John Elway two-minute drill."

The Outdoor Channel now airs over 45 different weekly programs devoted to the fishing enthusiast. "No other television network comes even close to giving anglers the variety of locations, species and techniques," said Sherman. "We are now the undisputed leader in television programming devoted to the American angler."

The Outdoor Channel, which now reaches nearly 11 million homes via cable and satellite, is the first 24-hour national television network devoted almost entirely to the traditional outdoor activities of fishing, water sports, hunting and shooting sports. "We are a totally independent television network and shouldn't be confused with other so-called "Outdoor" networks which primarily feature mountain biking, surfing, skiing and rock climbing," said Sherman. "We have a slogan, Real Outdoors for Real People, and we deliver just that to the viewers."

*The Outdoor Channel is now available nationwide only on DISH Network, the fast growing digital satellite service. Sherman added, "Every sportsman who has The Outdoor Channel on their cable system, should call and thank their cable operator. If they have a cable operator who doesn't carry the network, they should call and ask for it. They can make a bigger impact by telling their cable operator that they will switch to DISH Network if they don't add The Outdoor Channel. If the local cable operator still won't add the network, they can get the TV channel they've been waiting their whole lives for on DISH." Sportsmen who have Direct TV or Primestar may only need a new receiver or anyone can get a complete DISH Network system for free.
