20 teams would compete on Saginaw Bay for the final spots to compete in the Michigan Walleye Tour Championship at Hubbard Lake.
Hoyles Marina in Linwood would host Walleye Week as the PWT In-Fisherman would follow the MWT by 4 days. Many Pro's were in town
and were pre-fishing and attending the weigh-in to see what patterns were successful.
The team of Don and Sherry Howard of Davison MI. would take home first place honors with a two day total of 61.74 pounds. They fished
Pa's deep divers in front of spinners in 27-30 feet of water near buoy's 1 and 2. Their pattern was constantly changing as they ran different
colors at different depths constantly over the two day tournament.
Steve Landowsky of Kawkawlin and Wayne Blair of Bay City took home the second place check with a total weight of 53.89 pounds. They
fished buoys one and two also using in-line weights on their spinners. Third place honors went to Brad Hebert of Quanicassee and Brian
Jenich of Warren. They weighed in a total of 53.54 pounds fishing buoys 1 and 2 using bottom bouncers with green/gold and red/silver
spinners. Big fish of the tournament was hauled in by the winners Don and Sherry Howard. It was a 9.37 pound beauty. Tournament totals
include 855 fish caught over the two day event weighing 3511.66 pounds for a 4.10 pound average.
