Idaho
Walleye Unlimited was formed in March 1998 with a goal to improve
and promote walleye fishing in Idaho. Although Idaho in known more
for its blue ribbon trout waters, in the last decade walleye fishing
in Idaho has become a very strong fishery.
Salmon
Falls Creek Reservoir has one of the best concentrations of walleye
in the state. Located about 30 miles south of Twin Falls ID it is
the host of the Idaho Walleye Unlimited Spring Classic Tournament
held every fathers day weekend. The first tournament was held in May
of 1998 with a total of 18 boats. Since then this tournament has blossomed
in one of the premier tournaments in Idaho with a recent record of
55 teams from 6 states in 2009. All of the proceeds raised in this
tournament go back into conservation projects aimed at enhancing walleye
fishing in Idaho.
The Idaho
Walleye Unlimited Spring Classic is also is a Cabalas National Team
Championship Qualifier Sending our three best teams to compete in
this prestige’s tournament every year.
