Yes, it has all of the Mercury markings on it.

I bought the cover for my 225 last night at Cabela's in the Bargain Cave for $104, couldn't pass it up. Hope I am happy with it!

My guess is the reason why it is so tight is so that it does not come off during transport?? Based on my research I agree with you that it is best to stick with the Merc cover. It is made for the motor and lined as you state. Thank you.

In one of your pictures I see that you hve a mercury cover on your main motor. Do you like it? Does it work well? I am thinking about getting one for my Opti. and 9.9 Kicker.
