Hi Steve.
Getting close to Onaway time. Just wanted to wish you a safe trip up and back. I always wonder what I would do if i blew out a trailer bearing in that long drive between Fort Francis and Dryden. I guess we would sit there a long time before someone came to help.
This year we are not going to buy leeches. We are hoping to get by with minnows and lots of Gulp. If the fishing is slow I guess we can always go into town and buy some leeches.
We had a 5 man trip planned but one of the guys dropped out. So 2 boats will go, with 2 people in each boat.
Also will be taking along our 9 foot trolling rods that I use on Lake Michigan. We have the idea to try deep trolling in the afternoons with cranks to see if we can pull out some big pike or eyes that are suspended deep. That tactic used to work when we went to Minaki years ago on the English river. And i have tried it with limited success on Mille Lacs last year.
Have a great trip.

Click onthe YOUR NOTIFICATIONS in the upper right hand side under your log in name, a drop down list will tell you if you have anybody looking for you and under what category. I am wading my way through this site too. As you can see I don't have my profile completed, or any photos etc. Can't decide if it's because I'm lazy, uninterested or just don't want too.

thanks Steve. I look forward to it.
Can you tell me how to find private messages? When I log in there is no indicaiton that there is a private message for me. I have to go to you on the members list to see if you replied. There has to be an easier way.
thanks

Cabin 7 is a remodeled one on the top of the hill across from the main house. I will leave my leftover nightcrawlers for you, I still have some from this past year alive and thriving in my basement.

Steve,
I got word from Kathy that she is putting us in Cabin 7. Can you tell me where that is? The only one i know for sure is cabin 5, since I have been in that one twice. We get there on the 16th. Darn-missed you again.
thanks.

Hey Carl
Yese I was up this past summer but a week later. Fishing was tougher this past year, colder, rising water, windy one day the calm the next. We put the pieces together and found fish though. Onaway has a newer 6 man on the water and a brand new 12 man across from the boathouse, very very nice!
We will be up July 9 through 16 for 2010. We are in the BIG cabin and have a group of 12 in there now.
Maybe we will see you up there!

Hi Steve,
How was your trip to Onaway this last summer? If i remember right you usually go during the 4th of July week. I have not been back for 2 years , but I am determined to go next summer. Any big changes up there in the last 2 years? How is Blair and Kathy.? Did they build anymore cabins?
I e-mailed Kathy last week and she said July was wide open for reservations so I could pick the week I want at this point.
Do you know if there is a GPS chip for that area now? I got a Lowrance GPS and played around with it on Mille Lacs last summer. So I would like use one on Lac Suel also.
thanks.
