Hi, Brian,sorry to hear the fishing wasn't that good on Cliff.I really don't fish Lac Seul too much myself.There are many smaller lakes closer to where I live that suit my purpose & I don't have a big enuf boat.
However if I was in your shoes(paying for fishing holiday) that is where I would want to go.The fishing on Lac Seul is truly "World class" as you can see by reading the many posts on this forum.
I can recommend a couple resorts,Lac Suel Lodge or Goose Bay.I am biased about these resorts because Lac Seul Lodge is owned by my cousin & his wife owns Goose Bay.If you search these 2 on this board you will find several reports.
There are many resorts on both the Ear Falls & Sioux Lookout ends of the lake & most have been disscussed on here.
If you are considering going to Lac Seul next year,book now because the real good places are full from 1 yr to the next.
Just to let you know why I don't go to Lac Seul.Yesterday my GF & I went to 1 of my fav little lakes (small remote spot,ATV access,I keep a small boat stashed there,1/2 hr from home.
We brought home 6 good eater sized walleye,but could have filled the boat,we fished till our minnows were all gone than headed home.We were on the lake for about an hour! With fishing like this I don't have to go to Lac Seul,but the walleye in Lac Seul are soooo much bigger.There are lots of pike,I'm not sure how good the musky fishing is but I'm sure people on this board can answer that for you
