Just thinking about changing water levels, does the unit not take into account your actual boat elevation? In my case most reservoirs out west will see water level fluctuations of 7-15+ ft. per year due to irrigation demand. The actual bottom elevation does not change significantly but the elevation that your boat is sitting at, changes dramatically.

Hopefully the mapping takes that issue into account, otherwise that feature is worthless where water levels change.

I don't believe so. Lowrance needs to have a record stop, hopefully in a software update. This is basically their first year with on screen live mapping, where Humminbird has been doing this for years. I checked with a friend that has Humminbird Autochart live, and asked: can you stop it from recording, and still use your map, and he said: of course you can. Get it together Lowrance.

ColoGregS I will give that process a try.

I think the reasoning behind the 32Gb or less is that it can take the unit so long to refresh if you zoom, to dig through all those files. Go to whichever map you want to put your new contours on, and go to options-overlay-Genesis Live

For sure. I hope Lowrance can accomplish just that, with a software update. Would truly piss me off after spending all that money, not knowing that, and having to wait until the next unit for that feature. This would be the last Lowrance I'd ever buy if that was the case.

manitoba450es look into reef master software. $200 one time purchase create all the maps you want and bring them back to your lowrance unit
