I DID NOT WANT a mercury at all and was super frustrated and then I thought if I could find a Lund/Evinrude dealer I may be able to get one...Found 2 dealers in Ontario and called the closest and just so happened they had a salesmen at the same show! Landed up getting out boat with the 150HO G2 for 54,500Cdn and it actually came rigged with a Lowrance HDS Gen3 9"/Total scan instead of the much cheaper Helix7 on the first quotes! Came out super happy and we love the boat! Just putting a 15ho on it this week!
Yes sir that is a sharp looking boat you have.

I know this thread has derailed. My apologies to the original poster.

As far as options for an outboard, your factory installed options (as T Mac correctly stated) are Mercury or Honda. But, it really isn't that hard to find a dealer to mount whatever you want on a Lund. It is worth noting though that I did pay about $1500.00 more for a comparably equipped Evinrude as what I would have paid for a Merc. You just have to search for a dealer that orders boats that aren't factory rigged. In my case, my last 3 new Lunds have been rigged with an Evinrude E-tec. I've gone this route with a couple of dealers and been really happy with the rigging/ propping/ setup.

You can order a Lund with a Mercury or a Honda... Customers always have been able to do that.
The thing is...you need to find a Lund dealer who also is a Honda engine dealer.

As far as Yamaha and Evinrude go...the engine companies cancelled their sales partnerships with Lund (and other Brunswick boat companies) soon after Brunswick bought Lund (and the other GENMAR brands) in 2004.

So for you to get an Evinrude on a Tyee or Crossover, for example:
That means the Dealer would have to -1) Be an Evinrude Dealer -2)Buy an Evinrude himself -3)Buy a blank boat --4) Rig the boat from scratch (gauges, cables, controller, oil delivery system, etc, etc)

Yes sir... It is more expensive to put an Evinrude or Yamaha on one due to zero factory discounts on the engine, and all the rigging labor (rigging only covered by the dealer, himself in terms of warranty).

This all goes back to ... because Yamaha and Evinrude decided not to sell engines to Brunswick companies. Meanwhile... Honda went along ...business as usual.

bobob1916 Thank you all for the reassurance. And yes Wall-i-Lama, Lund does give the option of Merc or Honda on their boat builder website. Here is what comes up for motor options on the 1875 Crossover.

MERCURY
NO MOTOR - NO PROP $0

115EXLPT $10,260

115EXLPT Pro XS 4 Stk $10,760

150XL 4 Stk $13,388

175XL L4 Verado $15,884

175XL Pro XS Optimax $14,673

HONDA
BF115D1XA $11,704

BF135A2XA $13,331

BF150A2XA $14,813

Wall-i-Lama I have a Mercury 150 4s and it has been a great performer. Based on all that I have read and observed, you can't go wrong with the Mercury, Honda or Yamaha 150 4s motors. If you have the Honda dealer nearby, then I'd say you are good to go!

Mr Yukon, the Lund boat builder has offered Honda as an option for quite some time. I'm sure it comes down to pricing agreements between manufacturers.

pale ryder I would have no problem with buying a Honda outboard.
I don't recall anyone ever saying they thought buying Honda was a mistake.

That said, I also would not hesitate to buy the Mercury 150 4-stroke. Or any other 150 4-stroke. They are all good and all very similar in performance.
