RE: Out of fuel at FLW

That's no surprise to me or anyone else running the V250. I would have a hard time believing that any comparable size Mercury or Evinrude could match the fuel consumption of a Yamaha 4 stroke.

RE: Out of fuel at FLW

What was interesting was the 250 ETEC HO's which claim great milage were using 45-49 Gallons a day. They were running around 4200 RPM down at 43 MPH. The Yamaha 250 4-stroke was using 35-38 gallons a day running at 5500 RPM and 53 MPH. I filled up with a Yamaha one day and a ETEC another day and watched RPM and MPH very close. So much for the Economy on the ETEC.

Both days the runs were to the exact same area.

Yo Waltzy - what kind of a dog you got in this fight? The tournament was in the Fall of 2006 not yesterday. Grow some nads and come out of hiding or let this one go.....

And I think you need to go on a few good fishing trips to get things right....

This sport strongly needs more people that work hard to find positives versus the other. The way things are headed you'd think people would think about personifying new attitudes versus the same old rhetoric that obviously ISN'T working very well.... (Or can we all just blame it on the economy.... Yeah, that's it just blame it on someone else and walk away anonymously. Wrong!)

Now I'm off my soapbox, whew!

RE: Out of fuel at FLW

Where is waltz bay? Maybe walth bay and there is not a gas station there. The only place with gas on the water is in mobridge at the marina. So if there was a truck at that bay it is not there right now to buy gas or any other days.

Lynn:

Thank you posting this information. Now maybe this whole issue will be put to bed.

This is from the FLW rules: "Any additional fuel used during the tournament day must be purchased from a retail facility open to the public."

Mr. Kraft is correct. I was a co-angler involved with the big run to the Moreau River. There was gas available at Waltz Bay to anyone, the public or any other competitor. The three boaters who did their homework, played the game fair and square. They also checked with tournament officials prior to day 1.

Please don't insult someone's professionalism, unless you have facts and sign the post with your 'real' name.

Respectfully,

Thanks for the reply. I'll have to do some more checking. But, don't know how to get the truthful answer. I was assured that gas could be purchased by the general public, and all had been checked out and approved before the tournament began.

Why in the heck won't the co-anglers speak out and let officials know what is going on? I just hate it when these type of things show up on a site like this 1 1/2 years later. Now, we have unknown posters making referance that cheating went on, and officials ignored it.

I don't know where the truck was located. I never made the run, so did not attempt to find out where gas could be purchased.
