Insight Pro vs. Insight HD V. 15

Guys,

I plan on purchasing three GEN 3 units and the XI5 to network together this year. I mainly fish in WI, with an occasional trip to Canada or MN.

My question is what is the difference between the Insight Pro and Insight HD chip and if I have three GEN 3 units will I have to have 3 chips or can I just have one chip and see the mapping on all three graphs?

Finally, do both insight chips include the Insight Genesis software for map creating and sharing or do I need to purchase that separate?

Any reason why someone who mainly fishes inland lakes in WI would want to go with a Navionics + or Platinum instead of Insight?

#2(a)- rather than listing the differences for the Insight HD and Pro 15 here, go to Lowrance and check it out- Insight HD is definately better bang for the buck- $159 vs $99; http://www.lowrance.com/en-US/Products/Mapping/

#2(b)- Yes all 3 units can share one map card

#3 Insight Genesis is a subscription service (It is included(1 year service) with the Insight HD card purchase- Insight Pro requires purchasing the subscription- another $99 per year)- that allows you to record sonar and upload it to Insight Genesis which will create the maps for you- you do not purchase Genesis software.

#4 sorry can't answer about Navionics

Are the gen 3 units with insight mapping included the same as the chips or are the chips more detailed?

I have Navionics Hotmaps Platinum for my Lowrance HDS units...
One reason I like the navionics chip is when I record sonar logs & upload them to update the chart for a certain lake... it not only updates the chart for my chip but also updates the info on the navionics smart phone app.
Which is useful in many different ways.
I also have an insight pro chip in my bow mounted unit...since I have them networked with both NMEA2000 & ethernet I can utilize the info from each card on either unit or with split screen can view both cards at once (which helps if one has a little more detail than the other).

The new v15 cards will not only come with free yr of Insight Genesis, but include social maps from Insight Genesis of some lakes
