Only 1 of 2 Chartselect maps works?
 
Hi gang,

I have a new Helix 10 Mega+ and a Minnesota map chip. I'm off to Wisconsin tomorrow so I purchased and downloaded two Chartselect maps for the only 2 lakes I go to in Wi. On my unit I inserted the card with the maps and then manually moved the cursor over to Wisconsin and zoomed into my 2 lakes. Only 1 of them is showing contours and depths. What do I do now? It said it downloaded successfully. I can't imagine it only allows 1 map per chip?

Thanks![/QUOTE] Make sure you zoom in far enough. As long as you input the same unit type both will work on the same chip. If not you can download it again if needed. If there is a problem HB will make it right. Bob

You may need to check and make sure you selected the proper card/ chart to read in the Helix. Then you need to go to the "lake list" in the menu and select the lake you want to display. I believe that downloaded chart select maps do not automatically display on the unit like a lakemaster or navionics charts. Especially if there are multiple maps on a card. Again, as long as you have selected the proper chart to begin with. I hope that makes sense.

You'll need to select the other lake in the base and overlay options under Humminbird settings.

Thanks all. Here is some clarification, especially after having discovered the Lake List menu option.

[U]On my pc[/U][LIST][*]Both lakes are showing up on the Hummingbird ChartSelect application.[*]When I originally used the app to save to the SD Card, I selected all check boxes (both lakes). It took quite a while and the messaging noted it downloaded successfully.[*]If I browse the SD card with Windows File Explorer, I can see folders and files for both lakes. [*]I thought I could try downloading again but when selecting the map info and attempting to save, the Download button is grayed out. I presume it's a license limitation because I already did so?[/LIST]
[U]On my graph[/U][LIST][*]I originally was just moving over the map using the left/right/up/down button. Sitting in my yard I was able to drill in on one of the lakes and see the counters, but when drilling into the other lake it didn't have anything.[*]I was at the lake this weekend that had the contours. I did not need to select the lake, everything just worked.[*]I have now found the Map List menu option. If I go to the list, it only shows 1 of the 2 lakes.[/LIST]
I have an email into their support but haven't heard back yet.

Thanks for the link. The instructions are helpful, they would have at least saved me one interaction with their support. I'm confident we are proving there is a technical problem, but it's a terribly slow process, at least via email - "is the SD card inserted" then 24 hours later "is it in the lake list" then 24 hours later "can you try zooming in" 24 hours later etc. All the while I've been stating since my first submission that I can see the darn lake and drill in, but there are no map features. I know they have to rule things out, but it's really inefficient as they are providing one sentence responses/questions and every reply obviously goes to end of the queue for future response instead of being actively addressed.

It would help if you got on the phone with them. Email does not seem to work trying to diagnose a problem. IM would be ok but not email. Takes too long. JMO Bob
