I am wondering who out there use a panther lift or any similar on there kicker motor. How do you like them and what brand do you prefer. thanks for your input.

I had a Panther Lift on my last boat for 21 years.
Nearly flawless. I had a relay fail once..about $35...easy fix. |
thanks for the reply. did it add extra weight to the back end. it seems that adding the 9.9 kicker added quiet a bit more weight and adding a tilt back there would add more. I have a175 alumacraft navigater 115merc.

If it were me I would just go with a regular kicker designed motor with tilt and electric start, Had a non kicker 4 stroke manual start and manual lift not always the easiest to get it tilted up in rough water, but the biggest reason the gearing being different and much better boat control and slower trolling speed.

Yes, the Panther Lift was marginally heavier than if I would have had a kicker with factory power tilt. Exact weight difference I do not know. I really could not identify any issues regrding weight on performance, boat posture in the water, etc. If I were to get a kicker now, I would get a motor with a factory lift UNLESS for some reason I had to have the setback or other feature the Panther Lift provides. I think kickers have advanced significantly since I purchsed my last one. |
Panther 35 lift
I've owned a Panther 35 lift for 17 years now and it's behaved flawlessly. I should say I had to replace the sending unit but after 17 years guess I would expect that. I had to have one put on my boat along with an extension due to the fact that I couldn't get full rotation of my kicker due to the way my transom is made. Anyway, fully recommend the Panther.
