Posting a couple of pics of what I did with my Lund Impact 1850XS (Helix 10, Ulterra Remote & i-Troll control). Part of my motivation for posting is I'm looking for input from others that might have an Impact with Helix 10 as I'm not happy with the performance of my current RAM mount. It may be that the 1.5" size I used is insufficient for the Helix 10 because no matter how hard I crank on the mount I can't keep it from sagging when on rough water. I'm guessing I could upgrade to the 2.25" ram arm and maybe spend the $$ on their auxiliary wrench for that size but as long as I'm spending money, I want to consider Cisco, Balz-Out, RAM swing mount, etc. Any Impact owners out there that can comment on the windshield clearance and fit of the Helix 10 when using those other bases?

Thanks in advance!
Same boat with a Helix 9 (same dimensions as the 10) on the same mount. I haven't noticed it sagging badly in rough water. I had an HDS7 in my last boat on a 1" Ram mount and it sagged awful though. Frustrating as it was one more thing to worry about when driving in crappy conditions.

You actually have the RAM mount mine should have had. I had the size smaller. Since I posted those pics I have upgraded to Cisco mounts. Not cheap but wow, talk about craftsmanship. I'm sure the big RAM or swing RAM would have worked but the Cisco is rock solid and looks as good as it works. I was fortunate - the location where my old RAM base was is perfect for the Cisco base so the old holes are covered and I was even able to re-use one of the holes. I'll post pics when I get a chance in case someone else is considering the Cisco. Their standard base combined with the Helix 10's gimbal mount positioned it perfectly with just enough windshield clearance.

Should be awesome.

I don't think HB is keeping up with demand too well right now - that's one ripper of a unit.

Post some images!

My winter project. Have removed the lowrance electronics and replaced with a helix 9 gen 1 and a Helix 10 mega si both on Cisco mounts modified with 5 inch bolts to get away from windshield supports. 2008 Lund Tyee 1850

Got mine done the other day! So far no interference issues but I only tested 2D just for the heck of it. Note the picture is with both in simulator mode. The one on the right is just for GPS (will have sonar turned off) and I can switch it to full screen SI if I want to check something. I figured going with two 5" would be easier than reading everything off of one 10".

Is that the reason the two don't interfere with each other??

:rotfl:

I can run stuff in shallow with little issue, but over deeper waters of 30-35' or more I get some cross talk.

You got 'em wedged in there pretty good though!
