Minnkota thrust not what it should be
 

I have a Minnkota Verado 112 that is only producing half the thrust or less of what it should.
I have to turn it to 8 to get the power of 4.
Anyone else have this issue, if so what is the fix?

Have you verified that you have 36+ volts at the plug?

Have you pulled the prop off to check for line wrapped around the shaft???

Above is the simple place to start. I've thrown wires together a bit too fast on more than one occasion, and when I check voltage at plug only have 12 or 24 v. Motor doesn't like that too much.

I did the same once. Spot lock would give up after a minute or two.

Or one of your batteries is toast or about to be. Another easy/quick check.

Resistance at the plug due to corrosion is something that happened to me once. Plug would get warm too.

Perhaps a bad battery or wiring may not be hooked up properly. Might be a bad plug also. I would see if you are getting 36v at the plug first.

How old are the batteries running that... Verado ? Verado? Sure about that? :lovit:

What other details do you have? Battery age? Even deep cycle? How well maintained in the winter are they? Things like that + everything else that was posted
