What line for new Musky reel?

I've always used 80lb. Power-Pro but a buddy really likes Suffix 832 80 lb. Is there any difference or what do you guys use/recommend? TIA, Randy

Cortland Master Braid.
Test is your choice, but I run 60#

Cortland masterbraid is my 1st choice, I don't have a 2nd choice.
50# on my light setup, 65# for 1-3 0z. lures and 80# for heavy stuff.

3# test ice fishing line, on a hand reel.
Don't laugh, Anonymouse boated a 39.5" one soaking a crawler for a couple hours while his buddy shot a black & red bucktail all over creation & got skunked.

Suffix 832 80# on most of my rods. I'm done with PP after several issues with it.

65lb power pro for my big snook, cobia, and muskie setups.

Alot of people like Suffix, I hate it, to me its like a little limp rope. I like fire line and power pro for a little more stiffness. If you like the freedom of softer(limper) line you will probably prefer the Suffix. Either way try out a spool.

Thanks guys for all the replies. I went with Suffix 832 65 lb. low vis green. I still have my Calcutta 400 spooled in PP 80 lb. but thought I'd try the 65 lb. on the smaller Revo Toro 50. My local Gander didn't carry the Cortland for me to look at but I'm sure I'd be happy with it too. Best Wishes, Randy

Since it seems the OP is all set, I am going to hijack. Wondering if you can elaborate. I plan to respool mine this year and have not had any trouble with Power Pro.

Please don't misunderstand. I did not have any trouble with PP I just wanted to try something different. I still have my Calcutta 400 spooled with 80# PP.
