Kansas Turkey Hunting

Any KS landowners,
It turns out the leased land that my father and I normally hunt turkeys on is no longer available to us this year.
I just wanted to post on here and see if anyone in KS has any good turkey tracts available for a single day or a weekend hunt, or maybe more. We would have 2, maybe 3, experienced, ethical and respectful hunters. We would be most appreciative of any opportunity offered.
We normally do a decent job securing land, but with the late notice this year I just wanted to utilize all of my resources. Can't hurt to ask right?
PM me if you have any interest in this situation.
Thanks for even considering this,
KC

Kansas turkey

I have traveled from Ohio to hunt Kansas for 15 yrs. My first trip out, I spent two days stopping and knocking on doors. And, I got lucky and found some nice property that was not under lease. I also hunted public hunting areas. These public areas are over-looked and hold many birds. The pheasant and deer hunters move them off in the fall, but the turkeys return in the spring. No one will give up their spots as they worked too hard to get a few good areas. Walk-in and public hunting areas might be a choice for you.

I'd like to help you, but I'd estimate turkey numbers in this part of the state are down 75-80%. Never thought I would get turned down by farmers because the turkey numbers were too low. I sat at one of my favorite public spots this morning listening. Never in my life did I think I wouldn't hear a turkey gobble on this creek or the river. I did buy a tag, and I hope to get the daughter out and at least see one. Pressure on public is unreal this year.

Thanks guys. We did find some land but it has been very slow (tough) season so far. Hoping to have some better luck tomorrow with the big change in weather, I need something to change up their pattern. Good luck to you guys.

I missed in the thunderstorm yesterday about 6 pm.

I killed one just south of you on the MDC state area several years ago. Took me three days and lots of patience but there are a few in there.

2nd miss today. Hadn't missed in almost 20 years and do it twice in one week.
